What we do

Individual Rides

Volunteer drivers provide rides for non-driving older adults, 65 years of age and over for medical appointments and grocery shopping. Service is available Monday to Friday if a volunteer is available and requests can be one-way or round-trip.

Community Rides

Weekly scheduled community rides are provided by our driving staff for adults 65 and over to area grocery stores, fitness and wellness classes and other planned outings.

Thanks to Austin-based musician Jeff Plankenhorn, for the use of his song “Love is Love” in Chariot’s new video.
See more about Jeff at his website.

Volunteer with us

Chariot Volunteer Drivers use their own cars to provide seniors door-to-door rides to medical appointments, grocery stores, senior activity centers, and support groups.

We’re making a difference
with your help.

I have used your services since you were Faith in Action Caregivers for my radiation appointments. Thank you for getting me to medical appointments during the pandemic!

The drivers are wonderful! These rides to the doctor and the grocery store have helped me live independently in my own home.

These rides have helped me continue to stay involved in the one activity that means so much to me, volunteering at The Gathering Place.

We received a beautiful note today from one of our amazing clients. This comes with a special thank you to the YMSL mother/son volunteer group - an outstanding group of people sharing the importance of philanthropy. She said, Thank you for the beautiful orchid plant and the yummy pumpkin cake! The orchid plants is still blooming as I write this note. 12 weeks and 4 days later! I also want to thank Drive a Senior for the dedicated service to the Austin Community and a special thank you to all of the volunteers for their selfless efforts. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
